Why the Plantagon Member Project is Essential

People are the essence of a community. Of course the infrastructure, natural environment, and the systems they keep that community going are all important. But, it is the people, that are the heart and soul of the community.

Similarly, members of an association are important for that association to grow, be self-sufficient, and engage with other networks of communities. Particularly for associations seeking to use their "crowd" to have an influence in the world, members who are active and engaged become a necessary component if that influence is going to be achieved, sustained, and used properly.

The Plantagon Member Project is one of those opportunities to achieve this end. By showing members what the return on their investments are, it helps engage and keep them engaged. Moreover, it helps Plantagon grow. In my ideas section, I will begin to articulate one project and outline future ones, that can be used to grow Plantagon, make it economically self-sufficient, grow its influence, and create an active, engaged community of members. I hope you will join and support me and my colleagues Justine Clerc and Liz Mariani amongst the other voices, in our efforts to achieve these and other ends.

Great start to a new dimension of business – all of you. Yusuf – this is another well-penned document that attempts the literary bond between idea & execution.

People are the essence of a community and thankfully it shall remain so too.

Using an association as the platform, generating business in a competitive market-place and remaining detached from greed of any kind – is indeed a modern day challenge.

Wishing you and everyone here the courage to forge ahead, the spirit to stay focussed and finally the tenacity to stay the course.

Liz. Thanks. You, Justine, and I have journeyed so far together. It is fascinating to see where we have gone and to see what we can achieve together and as part of the network.

I also share in your assessment in how people have been re-activated so to speak, particularly existing members. And, the new members that were recruited and contributed to the campaign, will be of course new voices amongst those that exist. I’m looking forward to hearing their ideas, and sharing in their successes. This is exciting and inspiring!

Yusuf, this is brilliant. As part of the Plantagon Member Project I find your words compelling and necessary, to themselves. I have had the privilege as a fellow Project Manager & Plantagon Generation Share Member (10 Year Membership w/ a Closure Right) to work with you and Justine on this project.

Activating the true power of the crowd will sustain future projects. I found the new members recruited pre-, post- and during the crowdfunding campaign to be magnetized and inspired by the proactive companization model, the necessity of solutions and discussions around food security. And, obviously, counteracting greed and replacing it with a more sustainable force (sharing) has also helped Plantagon gain attention.
