In January 2013, we organized the Urban Agriculture Summit in Linköping with the thematic content of "Transformative solutions on how we feed people in the urban era" with focus on the market, politics, innovation, transformation and solutions.

The Urban Agriculture Summit 2013 gathered leading experts from various disciplines, politicians and decision makers, representatives from academia and the business community for concrete discussions on how to develop strategies for dealing with the fact that growing populations all over the world are moving into evolving megacities.
We need to work together to create a joint platform for technological and political market-driven development. That is why we take the initiative to this Action Plan leading to concrete results to be presented at the third international Urban Agriculture Summit in january 2014.

The Urban Agriculture Summit stands at the junction where it must either explode into a canvas full of progressive solutions towards ‘Feeding the City’ OR become a niche industry segment that aims at commercializing a new business trend in the field of food retail. The Mayor of one mega-populated city in Asia recently held several open forums to discuss the issue of food distribution in cities specifically to circumvent food wastage. Is this part of the Global Urban Agricultural Summit discussion arena ?

By working hard and not listening to people saying it can’t be done.

Urban agriculture – now has a platform in the form of the Urban Agricultural Summit that aims at addressing issues at three levels. Political preparedness, Academic integration and commercially viable social activation. How can we get this platform moving.?

Interesting set of options for a varied set of individuals and institutions to remain connected to the of ‘Feeding the City’. Any top-of-mind views on which area will gain most traction to get this movement going.?
